Mylar Polyester Type D Sheet
Mylar Polyester Type D Sheet is manufactured from high-quality polyester (PET) film and is recognized for its outstanding combination of electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties. Designed to perform in demanding environments, it provides reliable insulation, excellent dimensional accuracy, and long-lasting durability for a wide variety of industrial applications.
One of the key advantages of Mylar Polyester Type D Sheet is its exceptional dielectric strength, making it an ideal material for insulating motors, transformers, generators, capacitors, switchgear, and other electrical equipment. It helps maintain safe and efficient electrical performance while withstanding continuous operating conditions.
The material also delivers excellent tensile strength, tear resistance, and dimensional stability, ensuring it retains its shape and mechanical integrity during fabrication and long-term use. Its low moisture absorption allows it to perform consistently in humid environments without compromising electrical or mechanical properties.
Mylar Polyester Type D Sheet offers good resistance to oils, greases, chemicals, and many industrial solvents, making it suitable for use in challenging manufacturing environments. It is easy to cut, die-cut, laminate, punch, and fabricate into custom insulation components, protective barriers, gaskets, and precision-engineered parts.
Because of its excellent balance of electrical insulation, mechanical durability, thermal stability, and fabrication versatility, Mylar Polyester Type D Sheet is extensively used in electrical manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, automotive, telecommunications, renewable energy, and industrial engineering applications.
What is Mylar Polyester Film?
Mylar polyester film is unparalleled in overall physical properties. Mylar is an exceptionally strong, flexible, durable film with properties that make it extremely suitable for most industrial applications. Inert to water, Mylar polyester acts as a moisture barrier and is unaffected by oil, grease, and aromatics. It remains tough, clear, and flexible from minus 100 degrees F to over 300 degrees F and will not yellow or become brittle under normal conditions. Polyester has excellent dielectric properties and can be used as an effective insulator in electrical applications. Available in the following formulations.
