Acetate – CAB Clear Sheet
Polymer Plastics manufactures and supplies premium-quality Acetate – CAB Clear Sheet, a versatile transparent thermoplastic engineered to deliver excellent optical performance, dimensional stability, and fabrication flexibility. Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB) combines clarity, durability, and ease of processing, making it a preferred material for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
CAB Clear Sheet is highly valued for its exceptional transparency and smooth surface finish, providing outstanding visual appearance for applications requiring superior optical quality. Its excellent light transmission properties make it suitable for display panels, protective barriers, instrument covers, and decorative components.
The material offers excellent weatherability and UV resistance, helping maintain clarity and appearance during long-term indoor and outdoor exposure. Unlike many transparent plastics, CAB exhibits excellent resistance to yellowing and environmental degradation.
Acetate – CAB Clear Sheet also provides good impact resistance and dimensional stability, allowing it to maintain structural integrity and precise tolerances in demanding applications. Its lightweight construction makes it easy to handle, fabricate, and install.
One of the key advantages of CAB Clear Sheet is its outstanding thermoforming and fabrication capabilities. The material can be easily cut, drilled, formed, machined, and fabricated into custom components while maintaining excellent appearance and performance characteristics.
Industries including signage manufacturing, display fabrication, retail fixtures, aerospace interiors, medical equipment, industrial instrumentation, protective shielding, and commercial fabrication rely on Acetate – CAB Clear Sheet for applications requiring clarity, durability, and fabrication versatility.
What is Acetate?
Acetate sheeting is well suited for applications requiring the best optical clarity and good rigidity. It does not become limp or distort under normal temperatures. The high impact resistance of acetate sheeting withstands crazing or cracking over a wide range of temperatures under normal stresses. Acetate sheeting is an excellent shield for grease and oils, while maintaining good color and flexibility over long periods of time. Cast acetate is available in sheets 20″ X 50″ and rolls 40″ X 100″ in thicknesses from .003″ to .020″. Extruded acetate is available in sheets 22″ X 51″ in thicknesses from .010″ to .030″. Rolls 48″ X 100″ of extruded acetate are produced in thicknesses from .005″ to .030″.
