CP 221 – Polyethylene
What is CP 221?
CP 221 is heat shrinkable radiation cross-linked commercial grade polyolefin tubing which is rated at 105 degrees C. CP-221 is manufactured from high quality modified polyethylene based resins.
CP 221 is available in many high gloss colors and in high clarity clear materials. This tubing should be considered for high-volume, commercial applications where flame retarding is not required, but where material cost is an important factor.
CP 221 should ordinarily be considered for those applications that currently use a noncross-linked, heat shrinkable PVC. Compared to noncross-linked PVC CP 221 has similar continuous temperature rating and is cross-linked, nonmelting, easy to handle, and shrinks at a low temperature for fast installation. CP-221 also has an indefinite storage life, and is insensitive to storage temperatures, unlike PVC.
