L & LE Phenolic
What is L & LE PHENOLICS?
L & LE Phenolics are high pressure laminates with cotton canvas fabric as its base material. L grade is suitable for small gears and other fine machining applications, particularly in thicknesses under .500″ inch. LE grade is suited for electrical applications requiring greater toughness than provided by XX.
Both L and LE grades have better machining properties than C and CE and are available in thinner gauges because they are a finer weave than the canvas grades. Machining properties are superior to that of C and CE grades. Also, machined parts from L and LE have a better appearance than C and CE grades. These grades are not as tough as C grades and are not recommended for primary insulation.
