Noryl EN-185
What is Noryl EN-185?
Noryl EN-185 is a thermoformable sheet product produced from modified phenylene oxide resins. The unique ability of Noryl is its performance at high and low temperatures without sacrificing key properties.
Noryl EN-185 is so designated because of its ability to remain stable under load in temperatures up to 185 degrees F. It also remains stable under load in temperatures as low as -40 degrees F. Additional benefits include: low thermal conductivity and expansion rates. This product maintains its' high impact strength at a wide range of temperatures, making it more versatile than ABS, PVC, or ABS/PVC blends.
Predictable long term mechanical strength is a great advantage. Noryl has high tensile strength and flexural modulus. Resistance to creep and deformation under load is outstanding.
Changes in relative humidity, high temperatures, and a wide range of frequencies have no discernible effect on the excellent electrical properties of this product.
In thicknesses of .125" and thicker, Noryl EN-185 carries a U.L. 94 V-0 rating. In thinner gauges, it carries a UL-94 V-1 rating. Another significant benefit is Noryl's extremely low, .06% water absorption rate.
These outstanding properties make Noryl EN-185 an excellent candidate for both thermoforming and machining.
