Polysulfone
Polysulfone is a tough, rigid, high strength transparent thermoplastic which
maintains its properties over a wide temperature range from -150
degrees F to above 300 degrees F. Designed for use in FDA recognized
devices, it also passed all test of the U.S. Pharmacopeia Class
VI (biological). It complies with the National Sanitation Foundation's
potable wander standard up to 180 degrees F.
Polysulfone has very high dimensional stability. The changes in linear dimensions
after exposure to boiling water or air at 300 degrees F is generally
1/10 of one percent or less.
Polysulfone has very high resistance to mineral acids, alkali, and salt solutions;
resistance to detergents and hydrocarbon oils is good, even at
elevated temperatures under moderate stress levels. Polysulfone is not resistant to polar organic solvents such as ketones, chlorinated
hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons.
